HIGH PERFORMERS NEED A PLAN

And we've got one for you. Whether you're coming from the playing field or the battlefield, our athletes and military members face similar challenges. How do you lead as the CEO of your life while protecting what matters most? We'll teach you.

ATHLETES ARE ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS.

So are we.

But the lowdown is, unless you’re MJ, you have to hustle to stay relevant once you’re playing days are over. You have to create additional income streams, learn how to live on a budget, avoid the feast or famine factor & ‘gigging’ it for a living. And that’s for the super ballers, the household names. But if your athletic career didn’t pay a lot to begin with, you’ve got to do all this fast.

So, during your playday, did you get a business degree? Learn how to maximize your influencer status? Can you go back and ask your professors for help? Probably not.

AND A GREAT START DOESN'T ALWAYS TRANSLATE TO PROSPERITY

No clear path exists for transition from sport or service to retirement.

Ninety-six percent (96%) of businesses fail before making it 10 years in business. Those that make it to the 10-year mark are often surviving, not thriving, making them more vulnerable to burnout. This success rate is cut in half for partnerships.

Today's athletes have a problem.

Athletes are often struggling with identity & ill-equipped for work outside of their sport.

  • 6 top struggles post-retirement: Loss of structure, focus, identity & feedback; finding a new diet; and dealing with depression
  • 78% of NFL players are bankrupt, divorced or unemployed shortly after leaving the game
And military members aren't far behind.

No matter their rank, few vets feel “well-prepared” for civilian life.

  • 75% of veterans do not have civilian jobs lined up for after they leave the military
  • Only 16% of veterans say the military has prepared them very well for post-military life
  • 13% of veterans are homeless post-retirement
Entrepreneurship isn't easy either.

From staying relevant in an ever-shifting landscape to creating financials: It's All Hard.

  • 50% of small businesses fail in the first year - success is difficult with the complexities of a new business
  • 40% of expenses are dedicated to finding the next customer - it is incredibly hard to get the ROI a small business needs to thrive

BUT THE RIGHT PARTNERS CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

You don't have to be a statistic.

THE PLAYER'S JOURNEY THAT STARTED IT ALL

A note from our founder & former professional soccer player Jeremie Piette.

DO YOU EVER TIRE OF ANSWERING "WHAT'S NEXT?"

As a professional soccer player trying to figure out “what’s next” and as a father & husband who needed to provide, I always wondered what I would do to make a living after I was done with professional soccer. Do you dream of playing sports for a living beyond the professional arena? I don't know that I did - I had many ideas, including how to coordinate coaching multiple teams like I saw many of my friends doing. But I was always interested in entrepreneurship. I came from a family of business owners and entrepreneurs.

While Global Fútbol Training (GFT) has grown to being one of the most recognized soccer training brands & we now have former students who are collegiate and professionals players spreading the GFT word, this was not always my story. Not that many years ago, I was in a tough situation. I was a professional soccer player and an expectant father without a big enough paycheck to justify moving my family around from country-to-country or state-to-state without enough time to plant deeply rooted friendships.

Since college I had offered training during my off-season and that particular off-season I was also working at Stanford University running soccer camps. I saw quickly how I did NOT enjoy coaching – I wanted to see IMMEDIATE improvement in a kid’s technical ability. I started doing private skills lessons as an aside job to the Stanford work. Still not able to see beyond the professional career, my mind couldn’t let go of “what’s next” as we prepared for a new baby. One day, after a private training session, a gentleman complimented my training & encouraged me that I could build something with this skill. Global Fútbol Training was born.

Since then, my training methodologies and techniques have been validated by collegiate and professional athletes as well as professional trainers and young clients. Parent testimonials and college scholarships for GFT players have only fueled my passion and the growth of GFT. I began recruiting former professionals and friends to train with me and one trainer, a college All-American & All-American of the Year exclaimed 3 months after working with me, “Man, I’m better [technically] than I’ve ever been in my life!” He said he wished he had had the training earlier in his life.

THE INCOMPLETE SOLUTION

At that same time, more people wanted me to help them. They saw the lifestyle freedom, the growing businesses and wanted the same for themselves. And I wanted to do for them what that gentleman in California had done for me – encourage. However, there were answers I could not provide to many former colleagues, teammates & college buddies – how to not only DO the skills but the business model that so many before me had tried and failed. These people were asking me to train and teach them in both as they looked for retirement options & alternative to coaching. It didn’t matter how many camps or clinics they worked with me they always wanted more..and I couldn’t give them more without taking away from my own family and work. I explored franchising, training seminars, and more but in the end I found that mostly people needed the encouragement and step-by-step process that I followed – what to do and not to do along with all the pitfalls I encountered along the way – and so ESBA was launched.

A CUSTOM SOLUTION THAT’S AS UNIQUE AS YOU & YOUR EXPERIENCES

My doctorate-wife came on board to help formulate a curriculum and training experience that would rival the top hospitals and universities in the country. Now I and the team don’t have to turn anyone away and can answer the specific questions for your specific sport OR business idea – from professional players looking for an off-season & retirement solution those who want a platform that has nothing to do with their name, just their passion. ESBA allows each business to be as highly unique & based on your unique personality and experience, approach and goals.
